Sustainability

Long before sustainability became a business priority, it was an operational standard at Sanghi Industries, practised every day across 1,543 hectares of limestone reserves, a 500-acre green belt, and a township that transformed one of India’s most barren districts into a living, breathing green corridor.
Eco Care

Turning desert into green. Deliberately. Over decades.

In 1979, Sanghi Group began operations on barren, rocky land near Hyderabad, arid terrain with thorny bushes, huge boulders, and wild shrubs. After 18 years of committed work, that land became Sanghinagar, recognised as one of the most clean and green industrial townships in India.

The same commitment came to Kutch. Over 500 acres of green belt were developed across the plant, colony, mines, and jetty, planned at a cost of Rs 2 crores and included as part of the project cost itself. Not an afterthought. A founding commitment.

The scale of responsible building.

Environmental Safeguards

The standard we set was three times stricter than the law required.

State-of-the-art pollution control equipment installed across every transfer point — bag filters and Electrostatic Precipitators in combination. Dedusting bag filters on every conveyor. Stack emission monitors and control software running continuously.

Result: dust emissions restricted to less than 50 mg/Nm³ — against a legal limit of 150 mg/Nm³. Capital expenditure of Rs 25 crores — against the Rs 8.5 crores typically invested by any cement plant in India.

Clean Energy

Power generated not from fuel burned, but from heat already produced.

The 15 MW Waste Heat Recovery Plant at Sanghipuram converts operational heat — heat that would otherwise be lost — into clean electricity. A system that treats efficiency and responsibility as the same decision.

The plant was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Smt. Anandiben Patel, on July 10, 2015 — a recognition of what had been built and the standard it represented.
